This project created a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ interactive literary adventure in the Ballieu library at Melbourne University as part of the MudFEST art festival. Hundreds of fragments of a non-linear story set within the library – handwritten on the back of accompanying library photographs – were concealed within books scattered across the building, with each fragment offering the reader choices within the story that would lead them on to different books in the library with more branching fragments. Through stumbling upon these fragments, participants were drawn into a hidden world of forking narratives criss-crossing the five floors of the library, allowing them to experience their familiar library setting in a completely new ways.
