This project series used community quilting methods to inspire and gather together visions from expressing ideal future local communities. Participants were invited to paint, draw, or write their community visions onto squares of material, which were sown into several large-scale quilts. The first quilt project partnered with Brunswick Uniting Church to produce the quilts as positive alternatives to the narrow economic visions that the G20 leaders meeting in Melbourne was promoting at the time. The second quilt project ran at the Sustainable Living Festival with a focus on sustainability. The third quilt project ran at the CERES Environment Centre’s Harvest Festival to capture visions emerging from the festival.
